The best way to cure culture shock? Vino.

The local dry cleaner.. on my porch

Michelangelo's famous paintings in a leisure home on top of a hill in Trestevere.

Sight-seeing in AH 230
(This is the porch of a relaxation home used by the Romans for leisure, it just so happens that their view is one of the best in the city of Rome... surprise, surprise)

This week has been awesome so far, two days of classes down and two to go! Italian is going pretty well for me so far, I am getting a newspaper everyday and trying to read it front to back by looking up the words I don't know. I am hoping that this will help me with learning the language that I need to pass out of Italian when I get back to school down in Champaign. Also, when i get back down there this spring I have to take my internship seminar, one core class, and one general education class until I can graduate. Scary and exciting at the same time. Anyways, I found out that I have to give a presentation on gladiators on October 7th and it just so happens that my class field study is in the Colosseum so I will be presenting inside the famous Colosseum which will definitely be a once in a lifetime opportunity. I am not to excited about the actual presentation but the place I am presenting will be awesome. As you all know Oktoberfest is coming up and I leave for that on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. everyone is so excited, I am going with about 20+ of my closest friends from the program so it should be a good time. Most of my friends here have been waiting years to visit Munich during this world-known beer drinking festival. The rest of the week looks pretty easy going: Two classes tomorrow and three on Thursday then home to pack and off I go! I will blog again after the festival. I finally also received my birthday package from my mom that she mailed out 3 weeks ago... Italian mail is pretty skeptical!

I am hoping that all of you are going to have an outstanding weekend just like me.

Take care... Kev
